How 3M’s “15 Percent Time” Program Fosters Innovation

In a recent article, Fast Company Co.Design writer Kaomi Goetz describes 3M’s “15 percent time,” a program that allows employees to use a portion of their paid time to pursue their own ideas. Professor Henry Chesbrough is quoted in the article and explains how this is a good example of how companies can soften boundaries between where ideas come from and how they take root.
