The European Union Committee of Regions (CoR) website posted an interview with CoR member Markku Markkula in which he outlined recommendatons for EU research, development and innovation. He noted that the new generation of innovation activities is socially motivated, open and exists thanks to the participation of all the online community. The CoR encourages regions to move towards open innovation, within a human-centred vision of partnerships between public and private sector actors, with universities playing a crucial role.
