Japan looks to open doors to healthcare innovation
The Pharma Letter website reported that there are real signs that Japan is now making a concerted effort to make its healthcare sector a more open and attractive place to invest. The resurgence in global interest is being driven by de-regulation opening-up accelerated approval pathways. Japan could also be seen as having many similarities to neighboring Asian countries, meaning it could provide the springboard to invest across the continent. “We have an open innovation and global cooperation mindset,” Kazumi Nishikawa, director of the Healthcare Industries Division in Japan, said.
