Bayer Studies Options for Mission Bay Open Innovation Center, Incubator
The San Francisco Business Times website reported that drug maker Bayer HealthCare is considering moving its R&D operations out of San Francisco’s Mission Bay, but company officials said its “innovation center” and CoLaborator incubator for a handful of young companies will remain in the Bay Area. The news comes as Bayer and Berkeley officials weigh the company’s 30-year plan that could create 1 million square feet of new research, production and office space and add some 1,000 employees to a newly configured East Bay campus.”Bayer is evaluating all options in the Bay Area for its Open Innovation Center and CoLaborator location,” Bayer’s head of U.S. real estate, Matthais Muckle said.
