Harnessing the Power of Open Innovation
The ATD website reported that a new General Accountability Office report has found that open innovation—the practice of using external ideas and people to make positive change in an organization—is making inroads in the federal government. In fact, federal agencies have taken to using open innovation strategies in their day-to-day practices, working with citizens and external stakeholders to let more people participate in their initiatives. “Our primary objective for this report was to identify, and illustrate through selected agency examples, practices that promote the effective implementation of open innovation strategies,” the report states.
