Managing Open Innovation in Large Firms
The Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation at the University of California, Berkeley posted a atudy by Henry Chesbrough, the father of open innovation, and Sabine Brunswicker of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering. The study is the first large sample survey of open innovation adoption among large firms. Some of the highlights from the survey are: 78% of firms in the sample report practicing open innovation; no firms in the report abandoned their practice of open innovation; 71% report that top management support for open innovation is increasing in their firm, and 82 % report that, compared to three years ago, open innovation is practiced more intensively today.
