Potential for Innovation in the Port Sector Recognised
The website Handy Shipping Guide reported that PortXL, a mentorship-driven open-innovation program focusing on port related industries with the aim of helping the businesses to grow, has completed its yearly scouting phase from which it has identified fourteen companies from around the world that showed the most potential to innovate in the port sector. Between September 2017 and January 2018, PortXL scouted 1000 start-ups and scale-ups relevant to the industry. 25 promising start-ups and scale-ups were invited to participate in the PortXL Selection Days on February 12 and 13, to earn a spot in the 3-month acceleration program. During the Selection Days, the 25 companies had the opportunity to present themselves in front of over 150 port and innovation experts.
