India Space Agency Looks to Open Innovation
The Bangalore Mirror website reported that the concept of open innovation may be strongly considered by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), to widen its avenues, welcome more technologies and make better use of its patent portfolio in commercial terms. The article noted that an organization which focuses only in-house may be prone to miss out on many technologies, which may have the potential to tie with their existing business, to uncover further potential. “NASA’s biggest bet in recent times has been entrusting small private companies with big public responsibilities, ISRO should not lose this opportunity of open innovation methods to enrich its IP portfolio and other knowledge bases.
