New iPhone App Which Tracks Food Freshness Developed Through Open Innovation
In “The End of Moldy Strawberries? New iPhone App Tracks Food Freshness” Fast Company writer David Zax highlights this app which allows users to take pictures of food containers and then receive an alert when it is about to expire. According to Zax, this app can be used for “pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, or anything they might deem to have a limited shelf life.”
Zax also describes how this app was developed through an open innovation partnership between the Department of Engineering at Britain’s University of Wolverhamptom and an independent inventor.
