OI Projects in SMEs: Engine for Sustainable Growth
The MDPI website posted a research study that noted that the OI paradigm considers R&D as an open system in which firms benefit from a variety of
collaborative activities with external partners that enables a firm’s sustainable management. This study investigated the project-level characteristics of OI activities as factors associated with OI performance for sustainable growth. The firm-level analysis suggests that SMEs with a record of successful OI projects differ from those with a history of unsuccessful projects, in terms of R&D capabilities, BM characteristics, and experiences with OI practices in general.
