The ‘Active Innovation Paradigm’
The Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship published an article which discussed the evolution of innovation models, concluding with Open Innovation in the 2000’s. Currently, the predominant thinking is that innovation is the result of multiple relationships of different entities and organizations in the ‘open innovation paradigm’. The authors maintain that the current predominantly open innovation paradigm needs to be modified to incorporate a stronger emphasis on the human resources involved in innovation. There are signs that companies are already paying more attention to the human factor for innovation and the public perception. Consequently, they are convinced that companies will strive for an ‘active innovation’ model which builds on the open innovation paradigm.
