Historical Review on the Patterns of Open innovation
The Journal of Open Innovation noted that research on the relationship between the open innovation and national innovation system is insufficient so far. This very detailed historical study aims to analyze open innovation cases of the Roman era with the framework of a national innovation system. Roman era practices such as Acquisition, In-sourcing, Collaboration, User innovation and Spin-off are among the several type of open innovation analyzed. The study looks at examples of open innovation during the building of the great Roman empire and presents its analysis based on the national information system.
